The Hangout 2026 Returns With Multi-City Experience For Singles Across Nigeria

The Hangout, the annual singles experience organised by LifePointe and Surge, youth expressions of The Elevation Church, will return on September 5, 2026, with a multi-city edition designed to create opportunities for singles and young adults to connect, have fun and explore meaningful relationships within a faith-based community.

Themed “Hangout Retro: Back to the Fun. Forward in Connection,” the 2026 edition will take place in Lagos, Ibadan and Abeokuta on September 5, followed by an Abuja edition on September 12. The full-day experience will bring together singles and young adults aged 20 to 45 from within and outside The Elevation Church community for music, worship, entertainment, relationship conversations, games, networking and practical insights on personal growth and relationships.

The programme will feature appearances and sessions from Godman Akinlabi, Bola Akinlabi, Phillip Olubakin, Laju Iren, Emmanuella Mike-Bamiloye, Seun Afolayan, Stan and Blessing Nze, alongside musical performances by An Endless Ocean, Gospel Force, Temple Nation, DJ Horphuray, DJ Sammy and others.

A central feature of this year’s experience will be “Our Father’s Compound,” a retro-inspired space designed to recreate the simplicity and social energy of childhood games while providing an informal setting for participants to meet and connect. Activities will include Suwe, Tinko Tinko, Who Is in the Garden, Table Ball, Skipping, Whot, Ludo, Ayo and other familiar games.

Godman Akinlabi, Global Lead Pastor of the Elevation Church, said the experience is intended to create an environment where young adults can form genuine connections while engaging with conversations around faith, relationships and personal development.

“The Hangout is designed to be more than an event. It is a welcoming space where people can have fun, connect authentically, learn, grow, and build meaningful relationships. This year, we are bringing back the joy and simplicity of shared experiences while creating opportunities for deeper and more intentional connection,” he remarked.

The Lagos edition is expected to attract more than 5,000 participants, with thousands more expected across the other locations. Registration is open to singles and young adults between 20 and 45, including those outside The Elevation Church community.

The Elevation Church will also host Find Your Voice 2.0 Lagos on October 1, 2026, at Pistis Conference Centre, Lekki, with a livestream option. Themed “Find Your Voice: Build What Lasts,” the second edition of Godman Akinlabi’s personal and professional growth experience will focus on young Nigerians building careers, businesses, creative platforms, communities and purposeful lives.

The experience will combine faith, identity, purpose and practical growth through keynote sessions, interactive panels, storytelling, networking, mentorship, enterprise support and Builder Clinics covering areas including career development, entrepreneurship, creativity, technology, leadership, global opportunities and sustainable work. Discussions will also examine changes shaping the creative and employment landscape, including artificial intelligence and remote work. More than 3,500 participants are expected.

Together, the two experiences reflect The Elevation Church’s broader focus on creating spaces where young adults can develop meaningful relationships, deepen their sense of purpose and gain practical tools for navigating personal and professional life.

The Hangout 2026 will run from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on September 5 in Lagos, Ibadan and Abeokuta, with the Abuja edition holding on September 12. The Lagos experience will take place at Pistis Conference Centre, Lekki, while the other editions will hold at The Elevation Church expressions in Ibadan, Abeokuta and Abuja.
