Ike Neliaku re-elected NIPR President during the 2025 AGM in Uyo, with Nwankwo and McMedal joining the governing council.

Dr. Ike Neliaku has been re-elected NIPR President, alongside Vice President Prof. Emmanuel S. Daudara, to serve another two-year term. The election took place at the 2025 Annual General Meeting of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, held in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. The event, themed “Solid Minerals: A Solid Path to Nigeria’s Sustainable Economic Recovery,” formed part of the Nigeria Public Relations Week 2025.

Neliaku, representing the FCT Chapter, received broad support for his leadership. The council election used e-voting, which members hailed as transparent and reliable. Comfort Nwankwo and Olusegun McMedal, both from the Lagos Chapter, were also elected to the council.

Seventeen members were successfully elected, including representatives from Rivers, Delta, Kwara, Plateau, Bauchi, and more. This diverse council will support the leadership in driving reforms and innovation across the institute.

Under Dr. Neliaku’s stewardship, NIPR has made significant progress, including Nigeria’s successful bid to host the 2026 World Public Relations Forum. The institute is positioning itself as a global PR leader.
