The 2024 Indomie Heroes Awards honoured three remarkable children—Mary Timbee, Khalifa Aminu, and Kundushima Kwana—for their outstanding bravery in social, intellectual, and physical categories. Their courageous acts earned them recognition, cash prizes, and the role of Indomie brand ambassadors for a year.
In a grand ceremony on October 13, 2024, at Ultima Studios, Lagos, Dufil Prima Foods, makers of Indomie Instant Noodles, celebrated the 16th edition of the Indomie Heroes Awards (IHA). Three extraordinary children were honoured for their acts of bravery after a nationwide search spanning six months. Mary Timbee, Khalifa Aminu, and Kundushima Kwana emerged as the winners in three categories—Social Bravery, Intellectual Bravery, and Physical Bravery, respectively.

Mary Timbee, winner of the Social Bravery category, displayed remarkable courage by escaping a forced child marriage. She further committed herself to educating others on the dangers of child marriage and child prostitution, leading to the rescue of four other girls.
In the Intellectual Bravery category, Khalifa Aminu, a teenage inventor, was honoured for designing innovative eyeglasses with a built-in beeper for the visually impaired. His invention highlighted his passion for problem-solving and improving lives.
Kundushima Kwana took home the Physical Bravery award for risking his life to protect women and children during a herdsmen invasion in Benue State. Despite losing an arm in the confrontation, his bravery and selflessness stood out.
Dufil Prima Foods awarded each child N1.5 million and announced them as Indomie brand ambassadors for a year, empowering them to continue their positive impact.
Temitope Ashiwaju, Group Head of Communications and Events Manager for Dufil Prima Foods, praised the children, saying, “When children perform these wonderful feats, they do it spontaneously, not expecting rewards. By encouraging them, we pave the way for a better tomorrow.”
The event, compered by Nancy Isime, featured distinguished guests and performances by spoken-word artist Ibquake, Tripple Heritage Dance Company, Makayla, and The Dream Catchers.
