Brand Communicator Raises Recognition Bar, Inducts Awosika, Akingbade, Adenuga Into Brandcom Hall Of Fame

Excitement was palpable among all guests, attendees, and top Marketing Communication experts present at the just-concluded Brandcom Award, as three distinguished personalities, Jimi Awosika, Bola Akingbade, and Wale Adenuga were inducted into the Brandcom Hall of Fame last Saturday.

The Hall of Fame Induction is part of the yearly Brandcom Awards organized by Nigeria’s leading brands and marketing publication, Brand Communicator.

It was obvious to all present that these three living legends were eminently qualified to join the exclusive list of marketing communications giants and top-notch brand warriors such as Steve Omojafor, Chairman of STB McCann and former Chairman of Zenith Bank; Iquo Ukoh, CEO of Entod Marketing Ltd, Biodun Shobanjo, Chairman, Troyka Group, Udeme Ufot, Group Managing Director of SO&U and many others.

Awosika, Akingbade and Adenuga were inducted for their enormous contribution to the growth of advertising, Brand Marketing, and The Media in Nigeria.

Mr. Awosika is the Managing Director of Troyka, with over four decades of experience in advertising and marketing communications. He has many works that have brought a deeper understanding of the complex world of marketing communications and has remained a role model of what growth, partnership and consistency should be in advertising.

The former Chief Marketing Officer of MTN, Bola Akingbade, is a marketing guru, corporate leader, and strategist who has traversed the sub-Saharan marketing space with enormous footprints that have become reference points in the marketing landscape. He was represented by his brother Wale Akingbade.

Wale Adenuga, the founder and Chairman of the popular WAP TV, is an embodiment of intellectualism, dedication, and hard work. Always willing to give back his intellect, time, and resources for the greater good of the industry, country, and humanity. He was represented at the awards by his son Wole Adenuga.

Speaking earlier in his welcome address, Convener of Brandcom Awards and Publisher of Brand Communicator, Joshua Ajayi emphasized that the three living legends have contributed enormously to the growth of advertising, Brand Marketing, and the Media in Nigeria which is the reason they were recognised and celebrated.

In his words, “ For more than half a decade, we took the responsibility of promoting excellence and encouraging quality performance in the industry, which in turn elevates the Prestige, Integrity, and Credibility of the Marketing Communications Industry in line with our tagline.

“We know that every individual and organization that would receive any award today would feel very proud of a recognition that matches credit with reality”.

Jimi Awosika could not hide his excitement when he was called upon to give his response. He expressed his gratitude for the honour bestowed on him and congratulated Brand Communicator for taking this responsibility of supporting and encouraging excellence and growth in the industry”.

Many deserving Brands including Access Bank, Supa Komando, Pepsi, and  Aquafina from the stable of SBC, Unilever Nigeria, C Way Water, Peak Milk, Schweppes, and a host of others were also awarded for their outstanding performances.

Many young and outstanding marketing communications professionals were recognized in the 35 under 35 top marketing professionals category.
