MSGBC Oil, Gas & Power 2024 Conference To Explore Investment And Sustainable Development Opportunities

The MSGBC Oil, Gas & Power 2024 conference, taking place from December 3-4 in Dakar, will showcase investment opportunities in oil, gas, and renewable energy with global experts.

The MSGBC region, rich in offshore oil and gas reserves, abundant solar and wind resources, and strong opportunities in agriculture, mining, and infrastructure development, has become a top investment destination. With a focus on sustainable development, the region is attracting significant investor interest due to favourable governance, tax benefits, and regulatory frameworks.

This year’s MSGBC Oil, Gas & Power 2024 conference will be held in Dakar from December 3-4. The event will feature a robust lineup of global experts from the energy, finance, and strategic consulting sectors. Key participants include representatives from the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC), Resolve36, and GeoPartners. These experts will engage in discussions about the development of the region’s energy resources and strategies for unlocking sustainable growth.

The DFC has invested over $10 billion in sub-Saharan Africa, with a recent $414 million investment in Sierra Leone’s Western Area Power Generation Project. Adou Touré, DFC’s Africa Investment Advisor, will participate in MSGBC 2024, advising financiers and policymakers on business development in the region.

Resolve36 CEO Justin Dargin will discuss transitional energy and low-carbon strategies, focusing on upcoming LNG projects that are poised to drive exports and power generation in West Africa. These include major developments such as the cross-border Greater Tortue Ahmeyim project, the Senegalese Yakaar-Teranga gas field, and Mauritania’s BirAllah gas field.

GeoPartners Consultant Ben Sayers will offer insights into offshore exploration efforts, with a focus on the region’s geological potential. GeoPartners has introduced a legacy 2D seismic dataset, designed to attract further investment in exploration initiatives in West Africa.
