natnudO Foods, in partnership with Edo State and Heifer International, has launched the natnuPreneur Seller Scheme Hub & Spoke Model, empowering smallholder farmers and improving protein accessibility.
natnudO Foods, a division of Amo Farm Sieberer Hatchery Limited, has partnered with Edo State Government and Heifer International to introduce the natnuPreneur Seller Scheme Hub & Spoke Model. This initiative empowers smallholder farmers and enhances access to affordable animal protein in Edo State.
The Hub & Spoke Model strengthens local food supply chains. Each Hub features solar-powered freezers for product storage, while Spokes receive push carts and parasols for daily sales. This system boosts small businesses and ensures a steady supply of quality poultry products.
The official launch took place at natnudO Foods Processing Plant in Obayanto, Ikpoba Okha LGA, Benin City, Edo State, on 30 January 2025.
During the event, Mrs Edesili Okpebholo Anani, Coordinator of the Office of the Edo State First Lady, distributed solar-powered freezers and insulated carts to the first beneficiaries, mainly women. She urged them to use this opportunity to improve their earnings and increase protein accessibility.
Mrs Anani commended the collaboration between natnudO Foods, Edo State Government, and Heifer International. She emphasised that empowering women and young entrepreneurs is essential for economic growth.
Alaba Yunusa, Deputy Head of Business for natnudO Foods, reiterated the company’s commitment to increasing local poultry production. He noted that the natnudO abattoir in Edo State can process 10,000 birds daily using advanced technology.
In November 2024, natnudO Foods commissioned a new processing plant in Benin City, expanding its footprint across Oyo, Akwa Ibom, and Kaduna States. This move reinforces its dedication to food security and economic empowerment in Nigeria.
With this initiative, natnudO Foods continues to support agripreneurs, create job opportunities, and make quality animal protein more accessible to Nigerians.
