NECA Commends The Federal Government’s Efforts In Addressing Regulatory Bottlenecks By The Inauguration Of The PEBEC Regulators’ Forum (PRF)

The Nigeria Employers’ Consultative Association (NECA) commended the Federal Government for addressing regulatory bottlenecks through the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC) Regulators’ Forum. NECA applauded the commitment to improving Nigeria’s business climate under Vice President Kashim Shettima’s leadership.

The Nigeria Employers’ Consultative Association (NECA) commends the Federal Government for its ongoing efforts to address regulatory bottlenecks and create a more conducive environment for businesses in Nigeria. The recent inauguration of the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC) Regulators’ Forum is a significant step towards eliminating the operational and regulatory challenges that have long beleaguered the private sector.

Speaking on Friday, September 20th, 2024, the Director-General of NECA, Mr. Adewale-Smatt Oyerinde, applauded the government’s commitment to improving the nation’s business climate. He expressed appreciation for the leadership demonstrated by His Excellency Vice President Kashim Shettima as Chair of PEBEC and the comprehensive participation of priority Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) in the forum.

“By tackling the bottlenecks and inefficiencies that have stifled business operations for years, the Federal Government is paving the way for a more dynamic and resilient private sector. We are optimistic that this renewed focus on coordination, transparency, and efficiency will translate into tangible benefits for businesses and the economy at large,” He added.

The NECA DG lauded the forum’s focus on the Regulatory Impact Assessment (RIA) framework, which promises to enhance the productivity and competitiveness of Nigerian businesses. He affirmed NECA’s continued support and collaboration with PEBEC to ensure that key decisions made during the forum are swiftly implemented.

As Nigeria continues to pursue economic reforms under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, NECA reiterates its commitment to working with the government and regulatory agencies to ensure that the private sector thrives in a business environment free from unnecessary hindrances.
