ALX Nigeria celebrates the graduation of over 800 Data Science learners, part of a wider cohort of 2,800 across Africa, marking a milestone in tech education.
ALX, Africa’s leading tech career accelerator, recently celebrated the graduation of over 2,800 learners from across Africa, with over 800 graduates from Nigeria alone. These graduates, part of ALX’s first cohort of Data Science specialists, completed a rigorous program designed to prepare them for successful careers in the digital workforce.
The program began with a two-month ALX Foundations module, which focused on essential soft skills such as communication, leadership, and career-building. Learners then progressed to specialise in Data Science, acquiring skills in spreadsheets, statistics, data modelling, SQL, Power BI, Python, and cloud computing. This graduation marks a significant milestone for ALX Nigeria as it continues to champion tech education across the continent, empowering the next generation of African tech leaders.
The Lagos-based graduation ceremony saw the attendance of parents and guardians, celebrating the success of their wards. Ruby Igwe, ALX Nigeria Country General Manager, expressed her pride in the cohort, stating, “The success of our first Data Science cohort is an affirmation of the potential within our youthful population. This set of graduates has shown extraordinary commitment and developed the skills needed to lead in the tech industry.”
Seun Babajide-Duroshola, ALX Nigeria Country Marketing Manager, added that the graduation marks only the beginning of a series of impactful experiences in 2024. “There is no better time to kickstart your tech journey with us than now,” she remarked.
With its world-class tech training programs, ALX continues to shape the future of Africa’s tech industry, preparing millions of young Africans for thriving careers and leadership roles in tech innovation.
