This announcement was made during a press conference at the BusyBee Events Lagos head office in Yaba by the event’s convener, Coach Bisi Shotunde. The 8th edition of the summit, themed “The Forward Thinking Event Professionals – Innovation Meets Imagination,” is scheduled for November 26–28, 2024, in Lagos.
The event promises three days of learning, networking, and celebration. It begins with a Sunset in Morocco-themed cocktail at Wave Beach, Lagos, on November 26. A Masterclass on November 27 will feature transformative strategies and insights, accommodating both physical and virtual attendees. The African Royalty-themed awards dinner on November 28 will recognise industry leaders while celebrating African culture.
Notable speakers include Bryan Mensah of White Chalk Global, Funke Bucknor Obruthe of Zapphaire Events, Bisola Borha of TrendyBee Events, and Mosun Akinwamide of IPC Events, among others.
Shotunde stressed the event’s focus on innovation, highlighting challenges such as technological advancements, consumer preferences, and outdated business models. “The event industry is on the brink of transformation. Those failing to embrace technology risk becoming obsolete,” she warned.
The summit also offers sponsorship opportunities for organisations, providing brand exposure, networking, and funding collaborations. This year’s summit promises to set a new standard for the industry, combining education, entertainment, and cultural celebration.
