inDrive, the globally recognized mobility and urban services platform, has announced its sponsorship and participation in the highly anticipated Lagos Startup Week 2024. The 8th edition of this annual event will take place from July 8th to July 13th, 2024, at the Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.
This year, both the Aurora Tech Award and the inDrive ride-hailing team will be present to showcase their efforts in challenging injustice in Africa and highlighting the impactful work of the Aurora Tech Award in bridging the gender gap in the tech space across the continent. The event will gather entrepreneurs, investors, and industry leaders to discuss, learn, network, and showcase groundbreaking ideas and innovations shaping the future of the startup ecosystem in Lagos and beyond.
As the headline sponsor of Lagos Startup Week 2024, inDrive will also participate in other industry gatherings, sharing the company’s growth story and its role in revolutionizing ride-hailing in Africa.
On Friday, July 12, 2024, notable Nigerian female innovators Somachi Chris-Asoluka, Ifeoma Nwobu, and Eniola Edun will lead a panel discussion titled “Women of Launch,” powered by the Aurora Tech Award, an inDrive initiative that supports women founders of tech startups. The discussion will address the gender gap in the African tech ecosystem, including leadership representation, funding disparities, and pay gaps. Lagos Startup Week is dedicated to fostering a supportive community for African female innovators, providing them with opportunities to grow, learn, and connect in the tech space.
Additionally, Timothy Oladimeji, Senior Business Development Representative of inDrive Nigeria, will participate in a fireside chat on Thursday, July 11, 2024. This event will highlight the significant milestones achieved by inDrive and the company’s future plans. Oladimeji will share insights into inDrive’s journey, its impact on the Nigerian transportation sector, and strategies to further enhance the company’s services and reach.
Last year, inDrive used the platform of Lagos Startup Week to launch its freight product feature, “inDrive.Freight,” underscoring its commitment to innovation and service expansion.
Lagos Startup Week (LSW) has established itself as a pivotal platform for driving thought-provoking narratives and fostering connections within the tech ecosystem.
With its unique, people-first model, inDrive has revolutionized traditional ride-hailing services, becoming one of the two most downloaded mobility apps worldwide for two consecutive years. The platform currently provides coverage to over 16 cities in Nigeria, including Lagos, Benin City, Ibadan, Port Harcourt, Jos, Enugu, and Owerri.
This expansion enables inDrive to provide mobility options for passengers and contribute to the socio-economic growth of Nigeria’s urban centers through an accessible and interconnected urban mobility system.
