The 2022 AAG aims to promote digital skills for inclusion & employment, encourage entrepreneurship and startups through legislation
Founded in 2011, AfriLabs is a network organisation supporting Innovation Centers across African countries, grounded on the mission of building a community around the rapidly emerging technology hubs in Africa. The AfriLabs Annual Gathering is AfriLabs’ flagship event which provides a unique opportunity for technology hubs within the AfriLabs network and other stakeholders of the African technology and innovation ecosystem (such as corporates, development agencies, academia, and investors) to convene, network, learn and share knowledge.
Several top players in Africa’s innovation ecosystem have pledged their commitments to be part of the 7th AfriLabs Annual Gathering (AAG), with the theme, “Intra-Africa Connectivity, Collaboration and Innovation”. These partners include: Mozilla, GIZ Make-IT, Africa Union, GIZ-AU, International Trade Centre (ITC), Venture Capitalists for Africa (VC4A), Wylde International, Zanaco Plc., Flourish Ventures, Briter Bridges, Africa Business Heroes (ABH) and GIZ-PAU. Others include Agence Francaise de Developpement (AFD), Accelerated Growth for SMEs (AGS), United Nations Development Program (UNDP), Intel, Emirates Airlines, Ethiopian Airlines, Liquid Intelligent Technologies, Meta (Facebook) and Brienze and Lloyds Aviation. The mass media is not left behind as TechCabal and Radio Phoenix have also signed up as press partners.
The purpose of the press conference is to position the 2022 AfriLabs Annual Gathering as a global event focused on driving dialogue to foster intra-Africa connectivity, collaboration and innovation.
