The Go M.A.D. campaign, launched by MTN, is a call to action for Nigerians to take bold steps in their communities—no matter how big or small—to drive meaningful change. From entrepreneurs making strides in their industries to activists pushing for progress, the campaign celebrates those who refuse to stay silent in the face of challenges.
The Abuja Open Mic Night provided a platform for self-expression, with performers using poetry, rap, and storytelling to share personal experiences of resilience, hope, and impact. From heartfelt tributes to change-makers to electrifying verses about the power of individual actions, the event became a melting pot of inspiration and creativity.
Speaking at the event, Ohwofasa Obazenu, Senior Manager Sales and Trade Development North, MTN Nigeria, emphasized the power of storytelling in driving change.
“Every great movement starts with a voice. Through this open mic platform, we are amplifying the voices of young Nigerians who are stepping up to create a better future. The Go M.A.D. campaign is about action, but action starts with belief—and belief begins with stories like the ones we’ve heard tonight.”
One of the night’s standout performances came from Emi, who delivered a spoken-word piece on the power of small actions leading to big change. Another highlight was a spontaneous collaborative freestyle session, where attendees merged spoken word and music to create an impromptu anthem for transformation.
As the evening closed, attendees were encouraged to continue the conversation online using #GoMADWithMTNData and to leverage MTN’s digital connectivity to share their ideas and impact stories. With MTN’s data bundles, young creatives can expand their reach, collaborate, and inspire even more change beyond the stage.
Through initiatives like this, MTN is proving that change doesn’t start with the powerful—it starts with those willing to speak up and act.
