In an effort to promote healthy lifestyles among its workforce and beyond, 9 Payment Service Bank (9PSB), Nigeria’s leading digital payment service bank, took proactive steps during this year’s Global Public Health Week.
Throughout the week-long event, themed “Fostering Peace as a Prerequisite for Equitable Health,” 9PSB spearheaded initiatives aimed at raising awareness about the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. The centerpiece of their efforts was a webinar titled “My Health, My Right,” led by health expert Dr. Stephen from the AXA Mansard Wellness Team.
The webinar focused on educating staff members about the key factors contributing to positive wellbeing, including regular exercise, healthy eating habits, quality rest, and avoiding harmful toxins. By emphasizing the connection between health and productivity, 9PSB aimed to ensure a high quality of life and increased productivity among its workforce.
Branka Mracajac, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of 9PSB, underscored the importance of prioritizing health, stating, “Achieving a worthwhile life-work balance is of utmost importance and cannot be handled lightly.” She emphasized the role of individual choices in determining wellbeing and highlighted the organization’s commitment to providing health insurance coverage for all staff members.
The culmination of the health week activities was a 42-minute walk attended by all staff members, symbolizing the company’s dedication to promoting physical activity as a means of improving overall health and reducing the risk of chronic conditions.
Global Public Health Week, an annual event organized by the World Federation of Public Health Associations (WFPHA), serves as a platform for global public health stakeholders to come together and discuss best practices in disease prevention and health promotion. Through its proactive participation, 9PSB demonstrated its commitment to fostering a culture of health and wellbeing within its organization and the broader community.
