Airtel Nigeria Donates N2 Million To Family Of Newly-Born Quadruplets In CSR Initiative

Airtel Nigeria has donated N2 million to the Olayode family, presenting a cheque of N500,000 to each of their newly-born quadruplets, who gained significant social media attention in July. The presentation took place at the Olayode residence in Lagos on Wednesday, July 31, 2024.

This act follows Airtel’s pledge on its official X handle to support the young couple, whose quadruplets arrived unexpectedly, having gone undetected in several prenatal scans. Airtel’s post stated: “When life gives quadruplets, we give #ovajara support! We’re adding N2m because great things come in multiples.”

Carl Cruz, Chief Executive Officer of Airtel Nigeria, commented on the donation, saying, “This gesture underscores Airtel Nigeria’s commitment to enriching lives and bringing joy to our communities, especially through our CSR initiatives. We understand the economic demands of raising same-age children concurrently, and we hope this donation will be a meaningful helping hand to the Olayode family, while also inspiring others to offer support where needed.”

He emphasized the company’s ongoing dedication to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and supporting vulnerable groups in Nigerian society. “We are proud to support the Olayode family as part of our longstanding commitment to CSR and making a positive impact in the lives of Nigerians,” Mr. Cruz added.

Mrs. Abiodun Olayode, receiving the donation on behalf of her husband Sodiq and their family, expressed her heartfelt gratitude. “I would like to appreciate Airtel Nigeria for this ovajara kindness. You have supported us during this memorable phase of our lives, and this donation will go a long way in raising our children,” she said.
