
ALX inspires young girls on International Day of the Girl Child, hosting over 90 participants to promote leadership and careers in the digital economy.
On October 11, 2024, ALX Nigeria, a leading tech accelerator, celebrated the International Day of the Girl Child by hosting over 90 young girls at its Lagos hub. Themed “Girls’ Vision for the Future,” the event focused on empowering girls with exposure to opportunities in the digital economy, leadership development, and mentorship.

Ruby Igwe, Country General Manager of ALX Nigeria, highlighted the importance of instilling confidence and leadership skills in young girls from an early age. She noted that ALX is committed to building a future where girls are not just participants but leaders in the digital space. “Empowering girls with the right skills and mindset is essential to unlocking their potential,” Igwe said, as she praised the bright futures ahead for the participants.
Throughout the day, female leaders from ALX shared their personal journeys, providing the girls with valuable insights into leadership and careers in technology. Mentorship sessions were also conducted to encourage the girls to pursue paths in tech, reinforcing the importance of gender equality in the digital economy.
