Newly elected FIPAN President, Ayoola Oduntan, pledges industry growth through collaboration with stakeholders, focusing on innovation, technology access, and best practices. He aims to stabilise feed prices and enhance Nigeria’s agricultural output, particularly for poultry, ruminants, and swine.

Dr. Ayoola Oduntan, the newly elected President of the Feed Industry Practitioners Association of Nigeria (FIPAN), has committed to driving the industry’s growth through strategic partnerships, technological advancements, and best practices. In his inaugural address on September 24, 2024, at De Rembrandt Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos, Dr. Oduntan emphasized the importance of collaboration with key stakeholders—including farmers, feed producers, financial institutions, and government bodies—to create a sustainable and efficient business environment.

Dr. Oduntan highlighted the need for international partnerships to boost access to cutting-edge technologies and innovations that can improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance feed quality across Nigeria. He also announced FIPAN’s expanded focus beyond poultry feed to include support for ruminants and swine.

“Our goal is to ensure that FIPAN members can compete in this challenging climate with the support and resources they need,” Dr. Oduntan stated. He stressed that the future of the sector depends on stabilizing feed prices and aligning with government initiatives to strengthen purchasing power, thereby improving food security.

The event was well attended by industry leaders, including past FIPAN executives and representatives from U.S. Soya, feed millers, and farmers. Dr. Oduntan was lauded for his extensive contributions to the sector, particularly as the Group Managing Director of Amo Farm Sieberer Hatchery Limited and his leadership role in the Poultry Association of Nigeria.

Dr. Oduntan’s administration aims to focus on innovative policies to enhance Nigeria’s agricultural output and contribute significantly to the nation’s economic growth. He also emphasized the potential to increase crop yields, such as corn, and reduce post-harvest losses as key strategies for boosting the industry.
